Mark Goodman interviews Benjamin Orr about his solo album 'The Lace'

BODY LANGUAGE: I am deeply obsessed with trying to know this man!
From what we can see at the beginning of the interview, Ben licks his lips and its his lower lip a little bit. This may show discomfort - but he's still smiling. He puts his hands folded together, looks up and down from Mark and down again. We can say Ben is slightly sarcastic, with the eye he raises his brows. He says they sent him off to contract to make the album, while he was in the middle of rebuilding his HOUSE. His eyes lighten up a bit. Sarcasm, much? :D Cheeky, isn't he? He had to finish that first, 'cause he couldn't stand going in there again, just tripping over things. This makes me smile.

More largening eyes on "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" This is a very sarcastic, funny man... who's also very shy & private. Introvert at the most, pursuing personal interest & self-indulgences. When he mentions how Diane was very talented, he says it with a matter-of-fact face - he is very serious when he said it.

After that he tinkers his tongue a bit - this man is PLAYFUL!

Whenever Mark asks about Diane, he goes into a serious face. Ben is very serious about his relationships with people. Ben does not like talking about himself or things he does. He just likes doing them. BEN Admits that writing lyrics - his weakest points. This could possibly mean he has a hard time verbally expressing his emotions from heart. He is best showing people what they mean to him.

Very low-key man, with little to say, but SO MUCH TO SHOW. I Love you Benjamin Orr!
After the music video,

Ben tilts his head down a bit, like he's studying Mark.

Mark again asks - what took so long? & why bother to record it in England?

Ben shoves the question off saying "Beats me the hell out of me, Mark, I don't know actually".

The record company seemed to have forced this idea on him. Ben is a follower. He is there to please people.

When Mark mentions about his fist-ever, Ben smiles this huge grin - something he happily accomplished.
Now I notice Ben has a cup of coffee near his hand. Bored, tired, both? :-) This man is awesome!
Hahaha, Mark asks if his name is credited on the video, Ben replies with "No, actually. ... I mean, my name's all over the place. I'm tired of seeing it." Hahhaa!
Ben talks about doing concerts - MAYBE NOT! LOL I can't get enough of him!
His most excitable voice projects when he talks about going on tour. Benjamin really loved performing. He breathed playing music.
I LOVE YOU, "BENJAMIN DON'T CALL ME BEN ORR"!!!! <3333

  3. I have a bit of a new problematic obsession - with Benjamin Orr. I am working to start a business but spend way too much time looking up Benjamin Orr videos, pics, other stuff on the Internet. I really need to stop this!

  4. What people here didn't mention is how the interviewer seems like a douchebag. He acts as if Benjamin waited way too long to release this album. It was only 2 years. He asks about the girl mentioned on the album like "who is this nobody that I've never heard of"? My question to him: Who the hell are you? I watched MTV in the 80s and I honestly don't remember this guy at all. He reminds me of the typical 80s wanna be. He treats others around him rudely, to compensate for his own lack of self worth. But His interviewee handled him well....

  5. Seems to me you have no idea what your talking about. Likely projecting your own insecurity. Ben and I got along quite well on a number of occasions.
